Abraham Lincoln once said, "All sleep is beauty sleep." Such a smart dude, right? It's like he knew that Estee Lauder and the University Hospitals Case Medical Center would team up to do a study that proves how important good sufficient sleep is to healthy skin.
So here's the deal: 60 women between 30 and 49 were asked to assess how well they sleep, with half of them indicating that they suck at it. From there, all the women had their skin evaluated by the SCINEXA skin aging scoring system.
And guess what: Poor-quality sleepers showed more fine lines, discoloration and droopy skin than decent sleepers. The sounder sleepers even recovered from sunburn faster!
It probably won't come as a surprise that Estee Lauder is launching a new nighttime product at the same time their study about sleep is coming out, but that doesn't mean the study isn't legit or that the product isn't fantastic, YOU CYNICS.
