I tested this cream formula in three potentially stinky situations.

Though I used to be super-athletic, I’ve been finding it harder and harder to get myself to workout as I get older. In an effort to snap myself out of my lazy winter rut, I used most of my tax return to buy myself a new pair of customized Nikes, something I’d been wanting to do for years. They finally arrived last week (it takes a month to “build” them!), and I just started running again.

Though it feels great to get back to my old healthy habits, I’d be lying if I didn’t say running is a lot harder for me than it used to be, and as a result, I find myself more sore and sweaty than ever before.

With all this new sweating in my life, I've been on the lookout for a great all-natural deodorant that really works. For a long time I’ve been using organic deodorants, but I find a lot of the formulas just don’t work that well for me. I sweat a ton when I get nervous or uncomfortable, and riding my bike everywhere in the summer doesn’t exactly help either, so I’m constantly stressed about smelling bad.

I didn’t want to give up on my all-natural deodorant dreams, so I’ve continued to scour the internet and local shops, and that’s how I came across a small brand called LOVEFRESH, and their natural cream deodorant.

As much as I seem really confident about this natural, cruelty-free stuff, trust me, I’m just as skeptical as you guys. My first thought when my  Morrocan Rose Absolute Natural Cream Deodorant arrived was, This is way too pretty and smells way too good. There’s no way it will actually work.

The smell is rosy and sweet, but not overpowering, and the texture of the cream is like icing for your armpits. I was pretty sure it would leave me with smelly B.O. and a lot of embarrassment, but just in case pigs can fly and wishes really do come true, I decided to test it out.

I set out to try it in three different situations: a normal day, a day with a nervous situation, and a workout day.

On the normal day, I applied it in the morning and did my usual daily routine (breakfast, dog walks, working at home, watching an episode of Sex and the City, etc.) The first thing I noticed was the soft, moisturizing effect this product had on my raw, freshly shaven armpits. With shea butter, coconut oil, and kaolin clay, the formula is much more gentle than a traditional deodorant product, and you can really feel the difference.

The second thing I noticed was the subtle rose smell that floated around me all day. No musty B.O., no gross sweat smell--just a hint of fresh-cut roses. My pits stayed dry all day, and I was really impressed!

It just so happened I had scheduled a first-time hangout with a super-amazing local blogger I’ve admired for a long time but never had the pleasure of meeting. I was extremely nervous that I’d make a total fool of myself (like I always am), so before I had even left the house I started sweating (like I always do).

Though I was scared of the repercussions I might face, I slapped on the deodorant and headed to the cafe we were meeting at. The bad new is, I did still sweat a ton--after all, this isn't an antiperspirant--but the good news is I smelled great! So much so in fact, that it was one of the first things the blogger mentioned when we came face to face.

The same thing happened when I went for a run. Sweating? Yes. But the bad smell I usually get along with it? Nope!

Even more impressive, this formula goes on clear and doesn’t show up on black clothes (I even tried rubbing some right onto my shirt, just to double-check.) With arrowroot and baking soda to keep odours in check, and essential oils for scent, this product really is a total gem.
