It's the one skincare product I can't live without (so naturally I've tried them all).

As someone with dry, sensitive and pale skin, it's not surprising that I have a very large collection of moisturizers with SPF 30 or above. I only started moisturizing and wearing sunscreen regularly a few years ago, but now I can't imagine not caring for my skin in this way. It's one of the very few beauty products that I'm willing to spend a lot of money on.

Of course, to speed up my morning routine I prefer to have the two products combined into one easy step. Here are my current top five moisturizers with sunscreen (and I've tried a lot):

L-R: Cosmedix Peptide Rich Defense SPF 50, Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer Tint SPF 30, Olay Pro-X Age Repair Lotion with SPF 30, Pur-lisse Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30, and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 40.

L-R: Cosmedix Peptide Rich Defense SPF 50, Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer Tint SPF 30, Olay Pro-X Age Repair Lotion with SPF 30, Pur-lisse Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30, and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 40.

Cosmedix Peptide Rich Defense SPF 50 ($58) is extremely hydrating but feels light, with an equally light scent.

Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer Tint SPF 30 ($69) has a tint that is great for a subtle, warm glow on days when my face is feeling lackluster (it has a pretty strong fragrance, though).

Olay Pro-X Age Repair Lotion with SPF 30 ($26) is a drugstore option that feels luxurious.

Pur-lisse Pur-Protect Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 ($37) feels like silk on my skin and I will probably cry when my tiny travel size runs out.

And First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 40 ($30) is a great option for those who want a mineral sunscreen.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have about these products in the comments!

Speaking of comments, now it's time for Comments of the Week!

1. "Shipwreck" has a wonderful dream for the future in the comments of this BITE Beauty Lipstick article:

I dream of the day where all brands use some kind of universal colour coding system, so I don't have to slather a product all over my face to figure out what colour I've bought.

2. "anananana" has some interesting facts for those of you who have given up cheese:

As a fellow lactose intolerant person, wanted to let you in on some secrets! Secret #1: Sharp cheddar cheese (look for Cabot Seriously Sharp) is lactose-free. Secret #2 (and this one is a shocker): Familiarize yourself with the biggest lactose culprits. Surprisingly cheese isn't one of them! Hard cheeses are SUPER low in lactose, but even soft cheese are far lower than milk/cream/ice cream.

3. I laughed when I saw this comment from "lemonruby" about high-end mascara because it's true (at least for me anyway):

my favorite high end mascara is whatever sephora is offering for 100 pts.

4. "Alex" had some powerful insight on how makeup can help with stress and unhappiness

Literally makeup and skin care helped me emerge from my post-nervous breakdown, peak-anxiety, first real major depressive episode rut. In addition to just activating my brain by being a hobby, there's something about looking at your face in the mirror and really soaking in all your features and concentrating on them that grounds you and makes it harder for you to treat yourself like shit. It's hard to look at the person you are abusing in the eyes and keep abusing them, you know?

Comments like that are why I love this site and our community of writers and readers here.
