I am lucky to work in an office where it is not a problem for me to wear fragrance, but even still, I try to be respectful of my coworkers and not go overboard. Usually, I spritz once before I leave for work so that by the time I get there, the fragrance isn’t overpowering.
One thing that I apply and reapply obsessively throughout the day, though, is hand lotion. I have a weird quirk where I sometimes feel like my hands are dry even when they are obviously moisturized, and if even the smallest drop of water hits them I have to immediately add lotion afterwards. If I don’t have lotion on me, it’s almost impossible for me to touch things if I feel like my hands are dry — it genuinely freaks me out. I’ve actually smeared lip gloss on them in a bind.
As you can imagine, this quirk has given me cause to accumulate a nice hand-cream collection, and I have a few scent-free or mildly scented options reserved especially for the office.
I don’t know if I like the name of this so much, but man is this formula nice. I like my lotions and creams on the thicker side, and this one is thick and creamy but absorbs very quickly. There is a very light, fresh scent, but it fades pretty quickly, so I’m OK with using it at work.
I also really like that this has SPF 25 in it because it saves me having to put my facial sunscreen on my hands (body sunscreen is too greasy).
This is technically not a hand cream, but the smaller size of this lotion is perfect for my desk. It has a light cucumber scent, but again, it’s not overpowering. This lotion is pretty lightweight, but it does feel a bit waxier than some other formulas, but not so much so that it takes it out of the rotation.
I keep one of these in my desk, in my purse, and in my freelance kit because it’s such a good multi-purpose salve. Unscented and on the thicker side, this is my go-to for hands in colder weather.
When I first used this, I thought it felt a little too watery for me but once I started rubbing it in, I realized that despite being really light, it moisturizes really well. Sometimes with scent-free stuff you still get a bit of a neutral scent, but this one is truly free of fragrance.
This is probably the most used of the bunch, and I have a tube of it in my purse and at home at all times. The cream is super-rich but it makes my hands feel so silky and smooth. I find that on days I’m using this, I don’t feel the need to moisturize my hands as frequently.
