AMG, here. DaMonica is still running around the city dodging everyone trying to make SpongeBob suits happen. So here are some notes on what she's loving hair-wise backstage. Keyword: BRAIDS.

Half-fishtails/Half-ponys at Dannijo

Nope, the half-fishtail/half-pony is not a mythological beast. It's just a different way to jazz up a ponytail, or cheap out on a fishtail, depending on your point of view. (Is your glass half-full or half-empty, you know?) Start with stick-straight hair, recommends Rodney Cutler for Cutler/Redken, and use a flat iron to keep the ponytail part as sleek and frizz-free as possible.

Braided Chignons at Tadashi Shoji

When does a simple bun become a chignon? When it's this fancy. Start with a low braid, near the nape of your neck, secure it on the left side with bobby pins, fold the remaining braid back over the secured side and pin it on the right, and voila! A perfect horizontal, braided chignon, says Rodney Cutler, this time for Ulta Beauty.

Herringbone Braids at Suno

I'd love to be able to tell you how to do this braid, but I honestly am not sure. I mean, these are the steps (provided by Kérastase, who's behind this look), but...yeah, I don't know. Someone want to give it a try and report back?

• On dry hair, create a deep part using a tail comb

• Comb hair back in an upwards wave on each side and secure with clips

• Create a cage herringbone braid by parting the dry ends into three sections. Begin crossing the lengths over each other and underneath

• Loosely deconstruct the braid for added volume and a lived-in feel

Day 5 of NYFW, guys! We are at the half-way point. Keep up with DaMonica's adventures here
