Fall is my favorite time of year--turning leaves, crisp breezes, what’s not to like? One of the best parts of fall, though, is transitioning into my fall makeup routine, because I tend to dress things up a bit more, even for day. Here are two looks I’ll be wearing starting Tuesday, September 23rd, on the dot, AKA, the first official day of fall:
Look 1: Purple Smoke
I started with my usual base, concealer, and berry blush already applied; and set my eyebrows with tinted brow gel.
Step 1: I mixed two colors from my Lorac Pro Palette (Gold and Lt. Bronze) for a brow-bone highlight.
Step 2: Using my finger, I applied Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk to my lid and smudged it out to just above the crease.
Step 3: I patted MAC Eye Shadow in Beauty Marked just over my lower lid.
Step 4: Using Taupe from the Lorac Pro Palette, I blended the shadows out above the crease with a fluffy blending brush.
Step 5: I lined my upper lash line with Jordana 12hr Made to Last Liquid Liner Pencil in Purple Fix.
Step 6: I tightlined my upper lid with the same Jordana pencil but in Black Point, then lined my waterline with that, as well.
Step 7: For a bit more color, I added a little Pomegranate Punk underneath the waterline and smudged Beauty Mark over that.
Step 8: I brushed on a two coats of my CK One Mascara, line, filled in my lips with a Jordana Lip Liner in Tawny and topped it with MAC Lipstick in Twig.
Look 2: Wine and Wings
I started with the same base, eyebrow, and cheek prep as look 1, but I added a little E.L.F. Primer to my lids.
Step 1. I swept Nooner from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette across my lower lid.
Step 2. With my fluffy blending brush, I blended Sable from the Lorac Pro Palette into my crease to just below my brow bone.
Step 3. I added a little bit of Cream (also from the Lorac Pro Palette, the palette that keeps on giving) to highlight my brow bone and inner corner of my eye.
Step 4. Usually, I love to wear a standard cat eye, but for fall, I like to mix it up with a more dramatic wing. To get it, I positioned my Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Liner Pen in Black at the angle I want to draw my wing (I use the outer edge of my lower lid as a guide)--starting with one line on the outer corner of my lid, then drawing another line from the tip of the wing angling to about the center of the lid.
Step 5. I filled in this shape with the liner and lined the rest of my lash line, from inner corner to where I drew the wing (getting gradually wider the further I get from my inner eye).
Step 6. I finished off my eyes with a couple of coats of mascara. For the lips, I skipped liner and added a layer of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen, blotted, and then added another layer for maximum staying power.
