If you've been reading my more recent articles, you'll know I have a bit of a problem. I'm a tiny bit addicted to Grand Theft Auto V.
This obsession actually manifested itself into coercing my BFF and her fiancé to lend me their PS3 (no room in my luggage, sadly) for the duration of my stay in Toronto. Then, after already luckily snagging a copy on the first day of release in London without getting stabbed, I re-bought the game to play here at my mom's.
What can I say? I just couldn't bear to say goodbye to Trevor, Michael and Franklin.
In all honesty, I'm not even good at it. There is just something I enjoy about punching random people in the street, stealing their money and evading the police. Then there are the strippers, UFOs, amusement park rides and that hot soundtrack.
I actually haven't had time to play in a while, but I was stoked when GTA online was released. Mostly because I could finally play using a girl. Yep, I'm one of those. Getting to play with a female character automatically piques my interest tenfold. Call it self-obsession, call it feminism--the feeling is real.
I didn't realize my playing was actually probably some sort of way to zone out and release pent up stress, but hey, here we are.
So, even though online mode is still glitchy and I'm really bad at maneuvering a parachute, that doesn't mean I can't create the baddest bitch with the hottest makeup in the game. It was actually kind of hard to find the perfect combination of video game grandparents to produce a character that didn't look hardened by a life of crime and crystal meth.
I picked looks I would naturally shy away from in real life, but Los Santos me is also far cry from the regular law-abiding, non-prostitute-killing real-life me.
Circle lenses are a popular type of coloured lens in Asia that are meant to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Unlike some circle lenses, which I find overwhelming, I think these ones look pretty natural (but still kinda cool androidy) and enhance the colour of my eyes. (As with any contact lenses, you should consult your optician and use the correct base curve.)
These looks are sans blush, by the way.
Without further ado, here are my three favourite makeup looks recreated by me, as created by the folks at Rockstar North.
I used an old Lancome holiday palette in Jeweled Purple to create a majestic purple look that can distract others while I hijack their cars. Using the darkest purples on the outer edge, gradually fading into the lighter shades into the inner corners.
I used a shimmery white shadow in the inner corners, followed by a purple liquid liner on the upper lids. I then added half-sized false lashes.
For the lips, I used Lancome Colour Design Lipstick in Edgy.
This is what I'd wear to a Vinewood record release party, also attended by Los Santos's favourite celebutante Poppy Mitchell. She would tell me that she really liked my eyeshadow, and I would pretend not to know about her sex tape.
I used a combination of greens on the lids, with a darker, forest green in the crease and on the lower lash line. For the lips I used Missha Signature Glam Art Triple Lips SPF10.
This is what i would wear on an day date to to the Del Perro Pier. Afterwards, I'd meet up with Franklin and ask him what's up with him and Tanisha.
I used Urban Decay's Baked (a gold) in the inner corners of my eye and Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot on the outer corners. I used black liquid eyeliner on my upper lash line and on the bottom outer quarter of my bottom lash line.
For the lips, I used Joe Fresh lipstick in Melon, followed by a bit of clear gloss.
What's your favourite GTA look? Who's your favourite character? If you could be in any video game, which would it be? I think being immortalized in GTA would pretty much take the cake. Hmmm, or maybe Tekken. Do you have any video game makeup you'd like to see in the flesh?
