I’m not a fan of extreme temperatures, but I especially detest extreme cold, which is how it's been in Kansas--until now! As if a switch was flipped, we went from bitter cold to perfect 60/70 degree weather this week.
In celebration, I decided to create a sunrise-inspired eye look to welcome the sun back into my life.
Of course I started with primer: Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion (Eden). Then, using a stiff blending brush, I applied a matte burnt orange shadow (Makeup Geek Chickadee) to my crease and just above it using windshield wiper motions.
As always, I wanted dimension, so I took a combination of Makeup Geek Blush in Summer Fling (a punchy coral shade) and eye shadow in Cosmopolitan (pink gold) and applied it to the inner and outer third of my lid, leaving a space in the center.
With that same (cleaned off) shader brush, I applied a bright yellow shadow (Makeup Geek Lemon Drop) to just the center of the lid, added a pale yellow shadow to the brow bone (Makeup Geek Yellow Brick Road) and went lightly back over the entire look with a fluffy blending brush.
I used a shimmery navy shadow on a pencil brush to line my lower lash line and the outer third of my upper lash line. I wanted to make my lower lash line look as if the night sky was fading into the morning, so I added a bit of ivory shimmer shadow and let it fade about halfway onto the lower lash line. To finish, I fluffed up my lashes--top and bottom--with a couple of coats of mascara.
I wanted to keep the rest of the look in the orange/coral family so I used MAC Gingerly blush on the apples of my cheeks and swiped a couple coats of Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Streak on my lips.
And now back to you: It was SO hard to pick favorites in last week's LOTW, but I managed to narrow it down to these three.
