Although I’ve had a handful of dates (some of which I wish I could forget), I’ve pretty much always been single. This used to be a fact that bothered me, but as time has moved on, so have I, and my favorite person to enjoy a date with now is me.
I mean, think about it: I never have to worry about being late, I never have to worry about being stood-up, I never have to be somewhere I don’t want to be, and I always think my date is hot!
My favorite solo date-night activity is checking out a new restaurant (or one of my faves that I don’t usually get a chance to go to) and sometimes enjoying a movie afterwards. Even though I’m riding solo on these dates, sometimes I like to get gussied up. So, for those of you who are livin’ la vida single like me, here’s a look to help you rock that solo date in style.
After I primed my lids I applied a mid-tone, shimmery purple eyeshadow all over the lid, stopping just above the crease and bringing it out just past the outer corner of my eye to begin a winged shape.
Next, I took a slightly darker purple shadow (also slightly less shimmery) and worked it into the outer third of the crease and lid, also extending it into that wing shape.
With a soft, near-skin-tone shadow, I blended just above the crease to soften up the edges a bit.
Using a makeup-remover wipe, I sharpened the shape on the outer edge of my eye into a more defined wing.
I used a black liquid liner pen to draw a thin wing on my upper lash line, extending the end a little straighter so it would create some negative space between the shadow shape and my liner.
I finished the eyes off by adding a shimmery ivory shadow to the inner tear duct area, applying some mascara, and filling in my brows.
For the rest of the face, I kept it simple with a soft, dusty pink blush and a rosy-brown lip.
Here are my favorite looks from last week's thread:
