I’m already trying to find my perfect holiday look.

I’m attending/doing makeup for/singing at a fancy-schmancy New Year's Eve wedding this year, so I feel it's imperative that I figure out an appropriately glitzy-glam makeup look to wear. When I think of holiday makeup I often think of classic red lips and dramatic eyes, so although this look isn’t a contender for my NYE look (I’m reserving a classic red lip for the bride), it’s definitely getting me in the mood for finding the right one.

After I primed my lids, I applied a sparkly silver shadow with a dampened shadow brush all over the mobile lid.

Next, I applied a matte black shadow in the outer V of my lid, extended it into the crease, and let it fade out as I reached the inner corner of the crease.

To blend out the black, I took a fluffy blending brush and applied a cool gray shadow using windshield-wiper motions.

Using a makeup wipe, I sharpened the edges of my eye look to create a winged effect and then applied my foundation and concealer.

With a shimmery white shadow, I highlighted the area just below the brow bone and then lined my upper lash line with black liquid liner and applied three coats of black mascara to my upper lashes.

I smudged my lower lash line with a shimmery slate gray shadow to finish the eyes.

I left the very outer corners of the black in the crease unblended for a sharper look.

I used a light hand on the cheeks, applying a little soft pink blush and finished the look with a classic cool-toned red lip.
