I love experimenting with different eye makeup looks, and I’m definitely not one to shy away from heavy drama and bright eye shadow. Sometimes, though, I like to tone it down a bit with for a more subtle glamour, which leads me to the topic of today's tutorial: my favorite shimmery rose gold eye.
Here Are The Colors I Use:
I start with my base and concealer applied as normal, my brows filled in, and my eyelids primed with my trusty E.L.F. Eyelid Primer.
Then I use a standard eye shadow brush to pack L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Amber Rush onto my lid. This shadow is one of my all-time favorites: it’s a pressed pigment that gives a semi-foiled look without the use of a wet brush. That it’s a beautiful shade of rose gold only makes it that much better.
Now I take a little bit of my favorite Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Cocoa Bear on a fluffy blending brush and apply it in windshield wiper motions across my crease, depositing the color mostly onto the outer V of my lid and blending it inward.
Once I have enough shadow down, I usually swipe my brush across a clean towel to get the excess pigment off, and then go back over my crease again to blend.
For my brow bone and inner tear duct, I reach for my Lorac Pro Palette and use the light bronze shade for shimmery highlight. I also like to go back in with Amber Rush and add a little more to the center of my mobile lid for dimension.
Since I’m opting for a more subtle look, I line my upper lid only with a creamy dark brown liner and a couple of coats of CK One Mascara in Black (it's a shape-shifter!)
After my eyes are done, I apply a couple of different shades of blush: MAC Gingerly, a warm nude (thanks for the inspiration, Taylor!), from near the hairline to almost the apples of the cheeks for some warmth (without fully contouring), and Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore dusted lightly on the apples of my cheeks.
For some added glow, I use MAC's Alluring Aquatics Collection Extra Dimension Bronzing Powder in Aphrodite’s Shell on the tops of my cheekbones, eyebrows, down the center of my nose, and just above my Cupid's bow.
I keep my lips super simple with my second favorite Revlon Balm Stain, Honey. Smitten is still my number one fave.
I love how warm and soft this look is; it makes me want to bust out my favorite scarf (please get here, fall).
What looks are transitioning you out of summer and getting you excited for fall? Any recommendations for some good rose gold eye shadow shades? I’m obsessed!
