My favorite concealer is probably NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Not only does it cover blemishes well, it also makes my skin look brighter and more radiant.
But $29 for concealer is a little steep, so here are three awesome alternatives for those of you who can’t spend more than $10 on concealer. Each of these light-to-medium coverage concealers is creamy, blendable, and will make your skin glow.
Here's what my skin looks like with zero makeup.
Essence Match 2 Cover! Cream Concealer, $3.50
This is a cream concealer that comes in a two-shade palette. You can mix both shades to get your perfect match. Personally, I’m fine with using either shade alone or mixed. I’m using the shade Natural Beige. There’s only two shades, Natural Beige and Soft Beige, so that’s a bummer even if you can supposedly mix the two included shades together to get a better match.
Other than the lack of a good shade range, I quite like this concealer. It’s much better than I thought it would be for the price. I use a small, stiff concealer brush from e.l.f. to dab it on and then blend with my finger. It’s creamy, has good coverage, and makes my dry skin look bright and dewy but still stays on all day.
NYX Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand, $5
I just discovered this concealer and I love it. I’m using the shade Light, which is very close to being slightly too pale but I think it will work for the winter. This comes in eight shades, as well as lavender for sallow skin, yellow for under-eye circles, and green for redness. I’m particularly excited to try that last one out next.
This concealer might come closest to replicating my NARS concealer’s brightening effect. It’s not full coverage but it will make your skin look clear and glowing. It’s so easy to blend, and it sinks into your skin without becoming cakey.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, $7
This concealer comes in six shades; I’m using Light here. It’s slightly too dark for me so I’m probably going to switch back to Fair, which is what I’ve used with great success in the past. Its consistency is similar to the NYX concealer--maybe a bit thicker but still easy to blend. I used this concealer for years before I switched to NARS and it served me well.
Also if you’re looking for a good under-eye concealer, I really like Maybelline’s new Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer that’s being released for Spring 2015. It’s thick but blendable, with just the right amount of yellow in it to cancel out under-eye darkness. I’m wearing it under my eyes in the after photo above. Just a little tip!
