Welcome to the Emerald City!

My standard makeup “uniform” as of late has been bare eyes (usually with just a touch of mascara) and bold lips. Though I love the simplicity of this look, sometimes I like to kick it up a notch with metallic shadows.

Here's what I'm working with: L to R: Milani Bella Eyes in Bella Emerald, Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow in Jester, Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Cocoa Bear, Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Shimma Shimma, Colour Pop Blush in Between the Sheets, and Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Rapture.

After I’ve primed my eyelids, I apply a metallic golden green shade to my mobile lid using a flat blending brush.

I like using the Morphe M433 for this because it smooths the color on in a more diffused manner.

I add some metallic emerald to the crease concentrating most of the color on the outer corner of the eye.

My E.L.F crease brush is perfect for depositing color here because it's so dense.

Using a fluffy blending brush and a little bit of red brown shadow I blend from just above the crease to just below the brow bone in windshield-wiper motions.

When I'm done blending, I clean up any fall out with a baby wipe.

With gel liner, I line my upper lash line from inner corner to outer corner, staying as close to the lashes as possible, and soften the line a bit by smudging it with some black shadow.

Taking that same black shadow, I softly line the outer half of my lower lash line, extending it all the way up into a wing and connecting it with the liner on the upper lash line.

I also added a bit of champagne shadow to my brow bone for highlight.

Filling in my brows, blending the emerald shadow along the inner half of the lower lash line, and adding mascara to my upper and lower lash line complete the eyes.

I went with green because I really love how it brings out the golden tones in my eyes.

I finish the rest of my look off with my go-to foundation (YSL Fusion Ink), a touch of a soft pink-rose blush, and a “your lips but better” lipstick.

There were so many wonderful looks to choose from in last week’s thread but here are my three favorites:
