Five steps to looking well-rested on less than eight hours of sleep.

As a college student, I struggle to balance the important things in life--obviously food, my wild social life, and sleep. Throw studying and school activities in there, and there’s very little time left for a solid eight hours of blissful, uninterrupted shuteye.

Consequently, I often look very zombie-esque in the a.m. And this is quite annoying to me since one of my main goals in life is to look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed basically all the time.

So what does a girl do? She whips out all the tricks in the book in order to obtain those crystal-clear eyes she so desires.

Step 1: Conceal

Judging by my awkward half-smile, I’m really psyched to be concealing.

Did you know that the darkest part of your face is actually the inner corners of your eyes? If you didn’t, now you know! Dab concealer on the inner corners and blend with your ring finger or a beautyblender.

Step 2: Curl

Use with caution, ladies and gents!

Curling your lashes may possibly be the most important step in making you look like you got a decent night’s sleep. For those of you that are nervous to use one, you shouldn’t be. Start at the roots of your lashes and hold down for 10 seconds or so. For optimum effect, blast your curler with a blow dryer for a few seconds before using--it works in the same way that a curling iron does.

Step 3: Drops

Is it possible to look cute while holding eye drops next to your face? Because I think I nailed it.

When I say that I would die without eye drops, I’m being dead serious. Rohto Cool Redness Relief drops are amazing. They have this incredible cooling effect, and they make my eyes look twinkly and bright. You’ll look like Santa Claus after you use them. And who doesn’t want that?

Step 4: Brighten

Add some highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes (where you concealed) and to your brow bone. Use a white or Champagne shade with subtle shimmer for an ethereal glow.

Step 5: Tightline + Mascara

MAC Haute & Naughty Lash is a game-changer.

Tightline using a navy pencil, which will offset redness and make the whites of your eyes pop. Finish with two coats of super black, ultra-lengthening mascara on top and bottom lashes.
