Lately, I haven’t been wearing as much eye makeup as I have in the past. It’s been far easier for me to just slap on some mascara and a bold lipstick and run out the door. I’m starting to get back into playing with eye makeup, though, and I came up with this soft and smoky look to wear during the daytime.
I started with a matte, warm, soft brown shade applied all over the lid up to the brow bone. I concentrated most of the color on the mobile lid and lightened my hand as I got closer to the brow bone.
Next, I tight-lined my upper lash line and lined my lower waterline with black gel liner on a thin angled brush. I smudged just below that lower liner with a mix of black and brown eyeshadow to soften the look.
I cleaned up any fall-out from the shadow with a cotton round and then applied foundation and concealer. Once that was done, I went back in with a stiff shadow blending brush and applied a brown shadow with purple undertones just underneath the black smudged liner on my lower lash line.
With another stiff blending brush, I applied a shimmering champagne shadow to the inner corners of my eyes, added mascara to my upper and lower lashes, and filled in my brows.
I finished the look by softly contouring my cheekbones with a cool taupe powder and applying a warm nude blush to my cheeks. I also applied a nude lipstick with a lip brush.
