Lipstick is one of my favorite ways to spruce up a look and over time I’ve amassed quite the collection. As I was organizing my stash recently, I realized that I had quite a few drugstore dupes for my more expensive lipsticks and I just knew I had to share them with you!
Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème in So Rouge
Dupe: NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Electra
The colors are spot-on with the difference being in the pigmentation of the product. I had to layer Electra a bit more to reach the same level of opacity as the Marc Jacobs, but I don’t mind! So Rouge was longer-lasting than Electra, but only by a little bit, and both felt equally comfortable on the lips.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Lady Danger
Dupe: Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Matte Passion
Matte Passion is slightly brighter than Lady Danger and does take a couple of passes to reach the same level of pigmentation that you get with one swipe with the MAC lipstick. However, I find the Milani mattes to be more comfortable on the lips in this case. Both seem to wear for the same length of time as well.
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in 36
Dupe: Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Matte Orchid
The shades of these two lipsticks are identical and there is only a slight difference in texture (the MUFE is creamier). Both wear for about the same length of time with the MUFE fading a bit more evenly than the Milani. 36 is a one swipe deal in terms of pigmentation where I had to layer Orchid a little bit. Overall though, it’s a pretty good dupe!
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Charlotte
Dupe: Colour Pop Lippie Stix in Bichette
These are spot-on in terms of duration of wear; they last pretty long throughout the day on me. Bichette is slightly deeper but a little less pigmented and is drier. Both are still comfortable to wear all day.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Diva
Dupe: Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Divine Wine
These are slightly different tone (Diva is a bit more brown) but otherwise very close in shade. I find that Diva wears a bit longer but is also more drying/less comfortable than Divine Wine. I also find that both are equally matched as far as pigmentation.
Seeing all these budget-friendly alternatives for my favorite high-end lipsticks makes me wonder what other affordable gems I have hidden in my collection!
