An easy way to add more dimension to your look.

Mixing lip colors and playing around with adding dimension to my lips is something I love to do. After playing around with combination recently, I stumbled across this fun duochrome look and thought it'd be perfect for LOTW.

Duochrome, for those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term, is essentially when the color of a pigment, shadow, polish, etc., shifts when viewed at an angle and/or when it's viewed under light, giving off a sort of iridescent look.

I started by lining and filling in my lips with a chocolate brown lip pencil (I used MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Bittersweet). On top of the brown liner, I applied a matte purple lipstick,  Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Matte Glam.

I wanted the overall base color of my lips to be kind of a grayish purple, so I also added a layer of a "greige" lipstick to add a cool-toned element to the look.

I used MAC's Stone for the third layer.

With a flat eyeshadow brush, I applied a blue-brown pigment, Makeup Geek Pigment in Insomnia, for a subtle duochrome effect.

Similar options include MAC Pigment in Blue Brown, or the definer shade in the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette.

I wanted the lips to be the focus of this look, so for my eyes, I just smudged a dusty mauve cream shadow all over my lids, lined my upper lash line with black liner, and added some black accent lashes.
