It's low-key, but not lazy.

My workplace overall is pretty laid-back when it comes to makeup and hair choices as long as I maintain a professional appearance overall. Recently, however, I was given the opportunity to speak at a seminar for Office Administrators and wanted to create a look that was low-key and appropriate for a fairly conservative setting.

To start, after I primed my lids, I applied a taupe shadow all over the mobile lid.

MAC Satin Taupe is one of my favorite all time shadows; I've found a lot of similar shades but none with quite the same tone and finish.

Next, I softened the edges of the lid shade by taking a soft "greige" shadow on a fluffy blending brush and applying it in the crease, using windshield wiper motions just above.

I lined my lids with a smooth black pencil (both the upper and lower lash line), and smudged the lower lash line out with a mixture of that greige shade and a brown shadow to soften the line.

I usually skip liner on the lower lash line but I wanted to make my eyes stand out a bit more since I went so light with the shadow.

To finish the eyes, I added mascara to my upper and lower lashes (sparingly on the latter) and filled in my brows with a soft, cool brown powder.

For brows I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit powder in Fawn.

In keeping with the low-key theme, I opted for a soft pink blush on the apples of my cheeks and finished the look with a dusty soft-pink lipstick.
