Seriously, one of these is 79 cents!

I’m a pretty laid back person in general, but one thing that I constantly obsess over is keeping my mouth moisturized at all times.

Over time, I’ve amassed quite a collection of lip balms, so I thought I’d share my current favorites with you.

Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Moisturizing Lip Treatment Balm, $0.79

This is the rose version, but it isn't really different from the original.

My first foray into makeup was with Avon as my mom sold it off and on for years. One of the first ever additions to my beauty collection was Avon’s Dew Kiss Lip Balm. While I always loved how it felt, I hated the way it tasted/smelled.

A few years ago, I switched to using the Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Moisturizing Lip Treatment Balm and my lips love it. I don’t like super-waxy formulas, and I usually run into that with stick formats. Luckily, this formula is smooth and hydrating, and it doesn’t have a discernible taste or scent.

Smith’s Rosebud Salve, $6

This is a staple in my desk "beauty" drawer!

Good ol’ Smith’s Rosebud Salve has hoards of admirers for a reason. It has more slip than most traditional balms, but it hydrates my lips so well. It’s definitely not one that stays on long for me, but I feel like it sinks into my skin like a moisturizer would on my face, and so my lips still feel hydrated even after it’s worn off a bit.

Mary Kay Sun Care Lip Protector Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15, $8

This is on hand whenever I'm going to be out in the sun a lot.

I wear sunscreen every day, but an area that I was neglecting with that respect was my lips. Thankfully, I discovered this lip balm!

My issue with a lot of sunscreen/lip balm products is that they often feel really heavy on my lips. This one actually feels just like a regular balm and doesn’t have a heavy sunscreen smell or taste.

Glossier Balm Dotcom, $12

This tube is pretty small, but I've had it for four months of regular use and I'm not even halfway through it!

The more I use Glossier products, the more I fall in love, and this balm is no exception. It’s on the thicker side, so I like to use it after I gently exfoliate my lips. It hydrates and smooths them, and it's not scented (although they did recently launch a coconut-scented one), which I like.

I also love rubbing this salve on my cuticles and occasionally on my elbows as well. A little goes a long way!

Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm, $28

Working on my second pot of this!

Working on my second pot of this!

This is more of a splurge item, but I find it’s totally worth it. I initially bought it on impulse at Sephora because I had a gift card and I was feeling fancy. Thankfully, it is actually a really wonderful balm

Of all the lip balms I keep in my rotation, this is the one I use the most. It has SPF 10, so I’m provided with some sun protection, and it's the perfect balance between thick and thin. It’s not so slippery that I feel like it’s a waste and it’s not so heavy that I feel like it’s just sitting on my lips. It’s super-creamy and smooth and has the most amazing light rose scent.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic, $35

Small but mighty!

Small but mighty!

I know some of you are going to think I’m crazy for spending $35 on a lip balm, but if loving this is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

When I first put this on, I was sure I was going to hate it. The formula was thinner than I normally like, and I was convinced it was going to slide off my lips in a matter of minutes. Imagine my surprise when hours later, it was still on!

This is definitely a splurge but the difference it makes in my dry lips overnight makes it a worth it to me. My biggest issue after wearing matte lipstick day after day is how dry and cracked my lips can get. I put this on at night before I go to bed and wake up with a pillowy soft pout. I will say it smells like baby powder, so I would recommend passing on it if you hate that smell.
