I Wear Makeup To Bed To Feel Sexier

Washing my face at night creates a conundrum where I don't feel like I look attractive and, thus, act like a nun, which isn't great for keeping that spark alive in a long-term relationship.

I'm constantly talking about removing makeup properly and love going to bed with clean skin, but I have a secret: I keep two makeup products on my little table in the TV room that I sometimes put on before bed sometimes, after I remove my makeup for the day.

Sure, that sounds like the most counterintuitive thing in the world, but this is makeup I don't feel bad about not washing off: it's lip stain and eyeliner, and so far, it hasn't had any negative effects.

At the end of the day, I'm always ready to wash my face and get rid of that grimy feeling, but sometimes I don't completely want to give up my makeup-enhanced look... or attitude, if that makes sense to anyone. I think makeup definitely affects the way you feel. When I'm depressed, I can barely manage to put any makeup on and I feel like a zombie. Admittedly, I just feel more attractive with my makeup on most of the time.

This is how I look and feel when I wash all my makeup off sometimes. Kind of bored and miserable at the same time.

So what makeup do I wear guilt-free to bed? POP Beauty Lip Stain Stay in Petal Pout and Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl liner in black.

The Petal Pout is a really light pink. I like to layer it to get more color.

This is makeup you can wear to bed without having to do a major cleanup in the morning, and without the consequence of breakouts. These two products can really spruce up your look before going to bed and if you're like me, feel sexy again.

First, I like to make my lips stand out just a little bit. I really like the POP lip stain because it's exactly like a magic marker. I usually apply a couple layers, and since it's a stain, you need to apply it to dry lips in order for it to actually sink in. (That means lip balm AFTER, not before.)

Next, I lightly line my eyes.

The kohl liner is a basic eyeliner pencil. I find it rich in pigment and a little oily, so it comes off easily in the morning. It's not a great eyeliner to wear during a busy day without sealing it with some powder because it's soft and smudgy, which is why I like to wear it at night, where a little smudge/makeup migration isn't really noticeable.

Everyone's eye shape is a little different, but I apply just a little bit to my upper eyelids and a little more to my lower eyelid, because it smudges better on it's own that way as I lie in front of the TV.

I don't use a lot, because I don't want a lot to wash off in the morning. I apply just enough to make my eyes visible to me without glasses in dim lighting. I do this on nights that I skip eye cream, because the eye cream would just melt it off (and sometimes I just don't think the skin around my eyes is dry enough for eye cream).

I usually do this in front of the TV in the dark with a tiny hand mirror. Not doing anything complicated with the eyeliner at all.

Then, toss your hair around and go to bed. No guilt.

Goodnight!

Does anyone else secretly sleep in makeup even though you're not supposed to?
