Captain America may have been the first Avenger, but Peggy Carter was the first bad bitch.

Hi everyone! Welcome to today's VERY EXCITING VIDEO. You know I'm always delighted when I can A) talk about the nerdy things I love, or B) recreate looks from the past, so the fact that I got to do both in this video is the best thing ever. Let's dip into the Marvel universe and create an Agent Peggy Carter look!

Hair, Part One (0:41)

HEY GUYS, DO YOU LIKE PIN CURLS?

I HOPE SO!

Pinning curls after heat-styling them not only extends their life, but also gives you springier ringlets. That's exactly what I want for this look. I'm using a 1" curling iron and bobby pins to hold my curls. If you'd like to use hot rollers or the old school kind, go for it! Just leave more time to set.

P.S. You are right, this isn't a wet set and it's not historically accurate. I have to make certain sacrifices for videos; filming takes long enough!

Products used: Kevin Murphy body.builder Mousse (ahead of styling), Hot Tools 1" curling iron with the clip removed, TIGI Bed Head Hard Head hair spray, silk scarf. The scarf isn't essential, but I find it REALLY helps keep my pins in place while I'm doing other things.

Plus, it looks super cute!

Makeup (1:43)

Simplicity is ever our watchword here. Matte skin, rosy blush, neutral eyes (with arched brows), and red lips. Perfect for yesterday's secret agent on the go.

Products used, skin: Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35, Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder, tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Glisten.

Products used, eyes: MAC Eye Shadow in Shroom (beige all over shade), MAC Eye Shadow in Wedge (crease and underneath), MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Definedly Black, LORAC Front of the Line PRO Liquid Eyeliner, Dior Diorshow Mascara, Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony.

Agent Carter eyes.

Products used, lips: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Pop Life and Cruella, layered. (I don't really have any super warm reds, so I made my own.)

"Don't you dare be late."

Also, here's a Beyoncé joke that I'm a bit embarrassed about.

Hair, Part Two (3:05)

Now that all the crazy prep is done, this style is super simple.

The hair on the narrow side of the part is swept back and set into place with a comb, and the hair on the wide side is rolled and pinned in a flat victory roll. It's hard to see the pin placement in the video, so here is another photo. I ended up needing two for my hair. Remember: pin from the middle out.

The pins aren't visible in real life.

The finished look is SO GOOD! Howard Stark will totally want me to go save the world.

And go on time-sensitive missions.

  • So tell me, everyone: Do you love this look?
  • What's your go-to method for pin curling?
  • ARE YOU STOKED ABOUT AGENT CARTER THE TV SHOW, BECAUSE I NEED TO TALK ABOUT MY EXCITED FEELINGS.
