Has your mascara ever gone into dried-out mode, but you really, really need it and don't have the time/money to run to the store to buy another tube? Fret not, for I'm here with a life hack that'll save your butt--and your eyelashes!

Now, I know it's pretty easy to hop in the car--or take the train or do whatever you do to get from A to B--and hand over your plastic in exchange for the black, gooey stuff. However, we all slide into forgetfulness (or laziness) on occasion. I know that I've personally been in a situation, more times than I'd like to admit, when my mascara needs replacing and I just haven't gotten around to it. OOPS.

That's where this life hack comes into play. And I promise you that it's super-simple.

Literally, all you have to do is remove the top of your mascara and then insert two or three drops of eye drops. I'm using Visine because I have it on hand, but any eye drops will work.

The eye drops have a more silky viscosity than water and blend well with the mascara without watering it down. It's also approved for eye use (duh), so it's a safe option.

Next, swish the wand around a little bit to mix everything together. You can also shake it around a little bit. Just don't pump your mascara wand in and out of the tube, as this inserts excess air. That's a rule for new mascara, too, since excess air will dry the product out faster.

If your mascara hasn't been fully resuscitated, add a few more drops and repeat the blending process. Then apply as normal! This should extend your mascara's life by a couple of weeks, maybe even longer.

Pretty simple, eh?
