I tried a crazy-cool braid with some shiny bubblegum pink lipstick, all because of some cool things I found on the internet.

  • Did you even know how many different shades of blond there are? I'm not sure which one I am. Am I between golden and beige? Should I go platinum? I don't know what my skin undertones are and I might just call the whole thing off.

  • The Cut makes the case for creamy, slight shiny bubblegum pink lipstick. I recommend Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in N31--it "hydrates with a natural sheen" and is super bubblegummy. I'm wearing it the photo below.

  • This sideways French braid is a sexy look, and because I've been doing braid crowns lately, I think I can pull it off. I followed this tutorial, and while it's very clear, I think I need about three more tries to get this hairstyle up to Wearing In Public status. Also, my arms really hurt! I would have asked our intern Lindsay to help me, but girl doesn't know how to French braid. I did such a crappy job that Emily made sure to take a photo of the back of to keep in her phone "for her own personal satisfaction."
