  • Popsugar Beauty has a great guide to the best CC Creams at every price point. I tried out three of the drugstore-priced creams. Here's what I found out: Yes To Grapefruit CC Cream comes in Light and Light/Medium. It smells edible and fresh (like grapefruit) and goes on very sheer. It left my somewhat oily skin a bit too dewy, and the coverage wasn't opaque enough to cover up my zits. I gave this this one to my perfect-skin-haver of a mom who loves dewiness and sheer coverage--she is

hooked. Hard Candy CC Correction Crème

was my favorite. (Don't you love it when beauty products are crèmes?) It comes in four shades: Fair, Light, Medium and Dark. They didn't send the Dark to me, but the color differential between each shade was quite significant, even more so on when blended into the skin than in the photo below. The matte coverage was a bit sheerer than a high-end BB Cream. The packaging is so adorable (pink! hand-drawn hearts!) but it was a bit messy (the screw-off cap collects product).

Almay Smart Shade CC Cream is in between the Hard Candy and Yes To Grapefruit creams in terms of coverage and dewiness. If you have pretty good skin and no pimples, you might love this one. There's no smell, it has a high SPF, and the packaging allows you dispense a precise amount. The differences between shades are very subtle.
