A few scents evoke thoughts of wintry wonderlands and holiday soirees: homemade desserts always do the trick, as do certain spices (nutmeg, anise, cloves…basically anything you would throw into a pot of mulled wine), and, of course, peppermint.
If there's any time of the year that I'm going to slather myself with something minty, it's definitely going to be some time between December and February. If you're the same, maybe one of the following minty beauty goods will beckon your wallet into pecuniary submission.
Philosophy Peppermint Stick 3-In-1, $17
I'm a sucker for pretty much anything by Philosophy. I think it's partly because they knock it out of the park every time, and partly because they really have a knack for appealing packaging. Their Peppermint Stick Three-in-One (shampoo, shower gel, bubble bath) is a deliciously creamy mint scent that's definitely apropos for the winter season. Like all their three-in-ones, it foams up into a glorious lather and seeps gently into the skin for all day pepperminty whiffs. Yum.
Amala Apothecary Peppermint Concentrate, $20
Amala Peppermint Concentrate is a great fragrance concentrate for your purse, and I've found that it's the perfect go-to for a pick-me-up. I love to inhale deeply and just breathe in the minty scent. It clears my mind, gives me a little pep, and makes me think happy holiday thoughts. I bet Rudolph would totally wear this.
Boscia Pink Peppermint Blotting Linens, $10
I remember the first time I tried a blotting linen. I was amazed then, and I'm amazed now. The way it sucks up all that oil in seconds is definitely impressive. These Boscia Pink Peppermint Blotting Linens are ever-so-slightly fragranced--just enough to awaken your mind a little bit. Plus, they get rid of shine. You want the tree to be shiny, not your face, am I right?
Peppermint Shea Butter Essential Oil Soap, $6.50
Confession: I often buy homemade soap and never, ever use it. They're always so wonderfully, deeply fragranced that unwrapping them and setting them on a shelf somewhere can make the room come alive with the scent. That's what I'm doing with this delicious Peppermint Shea Butter Soap, made by PinkParchmentSoaps at Etsy, at least for now. It may migrate to the kitchen sink very soon...
The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Care Line, $14 - $16
So maybe you hate the idea of peppermint on your body. I get that. However, if there's one body part upon which you can douse yourself in minty goodness, it has to be your feet. The Body Shop knows what's up, as is demonstrated by their line of peppermint products designed specifically for your tootsies. Pictured here is their Peppermint Reviving Foot Soak, Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub and Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue. I sense a refreshing, self-administered pedi in your immediate future.
