Goodbye, Gatsby-era finger waves. Hello, hot pink-accented "S" waves.

I've always liked the look of elegant finger waves, but could never summon the time or patience to try them on my hair.

Then I saw this image of model Park Sora.

Not only did I admire her hairstyle, I wanted to cop it! And now, you can, too. First, gather up some colored bobby pins. Or... paint some!

No pink bobby pins? Np. Just paint them with nail polish.

Let's get started, shall we?

My Step-By-Step Guide To Simple, Modern Finger Waves:

STEP 1: Part your hair down the middle, or roughly down the middle if you've got a widow's peak situation like me.

STEP 2: Use two bobby pins to pin hair down on one side of your head, approximately 1.5 inches from your part.

STEP 3: Using your fingers to form an "S" shape with your hair.

STEP 4: Pin in place.

STEP 5: Keep going with the "S."

STEP 6: Pin again.

It's a bit '90s, with a retro twist.

STEP 7: Repeat the process on the other side.

Finito! You can leave your hair down or braid it.

I like this style because it's a nice and simple way to keep your hair out of your face. Would you try it? Have you found any other fun twists on finger waves? I'd love to see them in the comments!

P.S. Notice something different about me in these pics? I'm wearing Hana SPC contact lenses in Natural Grey from Pinky Paradise:)
