When I was a kid, I had some of the best hair anyone had ever seen. Seriously, people would stop my mother and me on the sidewalk to comment on its length, thickness and general awe-strikingness. (It's OK to brag about things that happened decades ago. It's what grandparents do, right?)

The barrage of compliments stopped almost as soon as I started experimenting with hair color as a teen. Although it looked and felt fabulous at first, the texture noticeably changed after a little while, and the hair-compliment silence was deafening. It deeply affected me. I've never been the same. OK, I'm pretty much the same, but still, sometimes a gal wants to hear that her hair is pretty.

The main issue with coloring one's hair is that while it may look and feel phenomenal in the days following the treatment, it's all downhill from there; and it's been a challenge finding haircare products that make my hair look and feel like it's been freshly colored long after the fact. But I think I've finally found what I've been looking for to maintain that texture and volume that goes away way too quickly: John Frieda® Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner for Colour-Treated Hair

You know it's good because 1) it's a mouthful and 2) they spell color with a U like the Queen would.

Actually, the main reason you know it's good is because you trust me and I say so; and I say so because my hair not only looks and feels as freshly colored as it did when it was... well... freshly colored, but it also looks super-healthy, full of volume, and completely worthy of sidewalk compliments.

It even makes finer hair than mine look naturally full, in a salon-volume way (as opposed to a puffy, humidity-is-my-enemy way).

If only I could go back in time and give these products to teenage Marci. Sigh...
