Summer is almost here, and that means it's time to wear as little clothing as legally possible and switch up your scent.
Summer is sticky, sweaty and sexy, and I'd like to smell that way as well. My ideal summer scent is spicy but also sweet but also salty. It's light enough for day wear, but sexy enough to carry me all the way through those (*John Travolta falsetto voice*) summer niiiiights.
In my quest for the ultimate summer scent, I've found many I've liked but few I've truly loved. After much trial and tribulation, I've narrowed down my list to just four sexy scents. Here are the few scents I plan on keeping in my rotation this slutty season.
At first spray, Stella is sweeter than perfumes I generally wear, but slowly, it warmed up on my skin and grew on me. It's bright and crisp, thanks to notes of blood and bitter orange. The sharpness wears down slowly, opening up to a softness of florals: freesias, lilies, and wild orchid. A base of sandalwood and musk keeps this scent grounded.
It's sweet but in a sexy way, like softly biting your lip when you smile.
This is a true honey scent that manages to evade any cloying sweetness by utilizing some seductive notes of jasmine and sandalwood.
On me, it starts off heavy on the honey but warms up to something woodier with a very sexy spice to it. There's a sort of thick heaviness to it, which evokes the slow-dripping nature of honey itself. The sugary notes keep it young and fresh and casual enough for day wear, but it's definitely quite heavy, so I prefer it at night.
This is one of my go-to date-night scents. I've yet to meet a man who doesn't compliment it almost immediately.
This is a classic summer scent for a reason. It just smells so. freaking. good. With the perfect blend of coconut and vanilla, Bronze Goddess is a summer vacation in a bottle. Notes of citrus help to lighten up the musky base of sandalwood, amber, myrrh, and vetiver, but the true notes are the coconut, vanilla, jasmine, and Tahitian tiare flower.
It's sexy like sunscreen, like a poolside piña colada, like a summer fling with a man who's tanned and would never wear flip-flops. Nothing says summer like Bronze Goddess, and it's my favorite scent for these long days of sunbathing and day drinking.
From their Collection Azur, Cèdre Atlas is bright and fresh while still sexy. It's clean and citrusy, but the cedar notes are strong in this one. The woodiness leans this scent heavily into masculine scent territory, but I'm a big fan of wearing colognes.
Pairing such a manly scent with a flirty little sundress is a power move, IMO. Notes of jasmine blend playfully with all the citruses, only to be balanced firmly by the base of amber, vetiver, and papyrus. This scent is confident but youthful.
