Annie is a burgeoning child beauty editor prodigy from Texas. She has zero experience in the beauty industry, other than floating to the top of the pitches pool for the xoJane.com editorial team, where she began contributing in the beauty section in August 2012. She was masquerading as an artist at the time and didn’t know what to do with her life. So this should be fun watching her try to figure out the whole “beauty editor” thing.
She’s covered fashion at New York Fashion Week and Paris Haute Couture Week and has worked for big-time fashion designers like Alexander Wang. Her zine, Wet Mattress, covering the topics of art, sex, and music, debuted in July 2012. That was the only issue, but people seemed to like it. She served a brief stint as drummer for the all-girl garage rock-slash-R&B band, The Sasstronauts, but the trio had a nasty falling out after coming to the hard realization that none of them owned any instruments.
